Amazon Music
Amazon Music (formerly Amazon MP3) is a music streaming platform and online music store operated by Amazon. As of January 2020, this service had over 55 million subscribers.
It was the first music store to sell music without digital rights management (DRM) from four major music labels (EMI, Universal, Warner, and Sony BMG), as well as several independent labels. All tracks were initially sold in 256 kilobits per second variable bitrate MP3 format without per-customer watermarking or DRM; however, some tracks now have watermarks.
Amazon Music is a music streaming platform and online music store launched by Amazon on September 25, 2007, as a public beta. Its final version came in January 2008. Apple Music
Apple Music is a music, audio, and video streaming service by Apple Inc., where users can listen to on-demand music and also access internet radio stations. It was announced on June 8, 2015, and offers a free trial for six months. It received mixed reviews on iOS, but praise for its playlists and other features. Apple Music quickly gained popularity after its launch, and its subscriber count was estimated to be 78 million by 2021. In 2022, it also achieved a milestone of 100 million songs.
Gaana
Gaana, which is India’s largest subscription-based commercial music streaming service with over 200 million monthly active users, was launched by Times Internet in April 2010. It provides Indian and international music content and recently restricted the music catalog based on subscribers’ geolocation. Gaana has music from 21 Indian languages and allows users to make their playlists public for viewing and liking. Its mobile app supports almost all popular operating systems, and its monthly subscription is just ₹99 (US$1.20). Customers are not provided with free streaming from September 9, 2022, and the premium version offers ad-free music, HD quality streaming, and the ability for users to listen offline.
JioSaavn
JioSaavn is an Indian music streaming service that supports Hindi, Marathi, English, Malayalam, Bengali, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Chhattisgarhi, and other regional languages of India. Established as Saavn in 2007, the company has acquired rights to over 80 million music tracks in 16 languages. JioSaavn is a freemium service, offering basic features for free with possible ads or limitations, while additional features such as improved streaming quality and music downloads for offline listening are provided through a subscription. On March 23, 2018, Saavn announced a merger with JioMusic for over $1 billion, which was completed in December 2018, rebranding Saavn as JioSaavn.
