He has won several awards, including National Film Awards and seven Filmfare Awards, and has recorded songs in multiple Indian languages, primarily Hindi and Bengali. His music transports listeners into emotions, and he has sung songs for renowned films such as Aashiqui 2, Dilwale, Padmaavat, and Brahmastra. From 2020 to 2023, he became the most followed Asian artist on Spotify, and his song ‘Kesariya’ earned him the seventh Filmfare Award. Jasleen Royal
Jasleen Kaur Royal is an Indian singer, songwriter, and composer who sings in Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, and English. She has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Filmfare Award. In 2022, she made history by becoming the first female music director to win the Filmfare Award for Best Music Director for the film ‘Shershaah’ (2021), sharing this award with four other composers involved in the film.
In 2013, she won an award for Best Indie Song at the MTV Video Music Awards India for “Panchi Ho Java,” based on a poem by Punjabi poet Shiv Kumar Batalvi.
In September 2014, she made her Bollywood debut with the song “Preet” in the film ‘Khoobsurat,’ starring Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan, which was composed by Sneha Khanwalkar and written by Amitabh Verma.
Darshan Raval
Darshan Raval is an Indian singer, composer, and songwriter known for his work in various languages including Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Bengali. Darshan Raval was born on October 18, 1994, in Gujarat, India, into a Gujarati Hindu family. His father, Rajendra Raval, is a freelance writer, and his mother, Rajal Raval, is a homemaker.
In 2014, Raval began his career by participating in the reality show “India’s Raw Star,” where he achieved the significant position of being the first runner-up. Raval has credited the support of Himesh Reshammiya as a significant factor in his early success.
By 2023, he has released many popular songs in Hindi, Gujarati, and Telugu, including “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga,” “Chogada,” and “Kheech Meri Photo.
Jubin Nautiyal
Jubin Nautiyal (born June 14, 1989) is an Indian playback singer and live performer. In 2022, he was awarded the IIFA Award for “Best Playback Singer (Male)” for the song “Raat Baaki.” He also received the “Upcoming Male Vocalist of the Year” award at the 8th Mirchi Music Awards for his song “Zindagi Kuch Toh Bata (Reprise).” Additionally, he won the Rising Musical Star Award at the Zee Business Awards. Jubin has recorded songs for films in various Indian languages, primarily in Hindi, and has also sung for TV series.
Jubin Nautiyal was born on June 14, 1989, in Dehradun. His father, Ram Sharan Nautiyal, is a businessman and politician from Uttarakhand, while his mother, Neena Nautiyal, is also involved in business. He showed an inclination towards music at the age of four and nurtured his interest in music, especially towards his father’s singing, from an early age.
In 2011, Nautiyal participated in the television music reality show “X Factor,” where he supported the top 25 contestants. He made his debut in the Indian music industry with the song “Ek Mulakat” from the film “Sonali Cable” (2014).
He has sung in several languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, and Telugu, and his songs have garnered significant attention along with his notable contributions to films.
Sidhu Moosewala
Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu (Sidhu Moose Wala), who passed away from June 11, 1993, to May 29, 2022, was an Indian rapper and singer. He was primarily known for his work in Punjabi music and cinema and was regarded as one of the finest Punjabi artists of his generation. In 2020, he was selected by The Guardian as one of the 50 emerging artists, and he also felt proud to become the first Punjabi and Indian singer to perform at the Wireless Festival. Moose Wala received four awards at the Brit Asia TV Music Awards for his songs.
In 2021, he joined the Indian National Congress (INC) party and contested in the Punjab Legislative Assembly elections for Mansa in 2022, but he was unsuccessful. He passed away on May 29, 2022, due to an unknown attack, for which a Canada-based gangster was held responsible, identified by the police as part of a gang altercation. On June 23, 2022, his first posthumous single “SYL” was released. Moose Wala’s songs and associations were controversial in India, and he was accused of promoting gun culture and his Jatt background.
